We always try to get the most out of something, even if it means depleting the source. It’s not that we want to deplete anything, we simply think there’s a little more we can pull out before it ends. Instead, why don’t we learn to take a pause and reenergize our source? This episode talks about keeping your batteries charged.

This morning I got up to run errands and the car battery was dead. It didn’t startle me. I prepared just for this moment. I have an extra battery to jump start my own car, only, it’s been so cold in Florida the backup battery actually wasn’t working that day. That, I didn’t see coming. My car battery situation is a bit like life: If we don’t pay attention to how we’re taking care of ourselves, not even a backup plan can help us.

I’m here to spend quality solo time with you for EP130’s Wise Walk as we discover our True Stride. The situation reminded me not to overdo it and exhaust myself, especially while I’m recovering from being sick. I’m so excited to hop back into life, but I need to be mindful of what expectations I set for myself. That’s why I chose to reprioritize what I’m focusing on.

On our Wise Walk, I talk about keeping our batteries charged so we can remain active participants in our lives. We should look for what will help sustain our light. Come with me as we reflect on these Wise Walk questions:

    • How are you feeling right now in this moment?
    • Are you energized or depleted?
    • If you feel drained, what can you do to change that?
    • What were the practices you incorporated in your life that made you feel energized?
    • Did you find a balance for managing your priorities?
    • Did you find balance in a playful way?

Questioning your priorities helps you continue what supports your being and inspires you to be selective of anything outside of that. It’s an honest filter to remove distractions and unnecessary expectations.

You need a charged battery to fully enjoy all the things that really matter in your life. Let’s feel energized and engaged with these Wise Walk questions:

    • Have you found a way to carve out “me” time for yourself?
    • What do you like to do with that time and how does it make you feel?
    • Can you do something that you love and then share it with others?
    • What are the specific practices that help you reset?
    • Are there opportunities for you to connect with friends to ask for support?

Join this inspiring community to uncover a new sense of freedom, and be sure to follow and review the True Stride podcast as we continue to exchange our light and Heart Value with each other.
